La 65e cérémonie des Emmy Awards a été présentée ce dimanche 22 septembre à Los Angeles par l’acteur américain Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother). Les résultats ne présentent pas de grandes surprises. La série BREAKING BAD, créée par Vince Gilligan, termine avec panache sa cinquième et ultime saison puisqu’elle est récompensée par le trophée de la Meilleure Série Dramatique, après avoir été huit fois nommée dans six catégories. Jeff Daniels (NEWSROOM) est tout de même passé devant Bryan Cranston, Jon Hamm ou encore Kevin Spacey pour le titre de Meilleur Acteur dans une Série Dramatique. Claire Danes a été gratifiée du titre de Meilleure Actrice pour HOMELAND. Modern Family remporte le trophée de la Meilleure Série Dramatique pour la quatrième année consécutive, Julia Louis Dreyfus celui de la Meilleure Actrice dans la série Comique Veep et Jim Parsons celui du Meilleur Acteur dans la série comique The Big Bang Theory. Si l’on attendait HOUSE OF CARDS, qui avait obtenu 9 citations, à faire un joli de pied-de-nez à la télévision, la première série originale de Netflix repart néanmoins avec son premier Emmy, remis à son réalisateur David Fincher. Et enfin MA VIE AVEC LIBERACE (notre critique), présentée en compétition officielle à Cannes, a raflé trois belles statuettes principales du Meilleur Acteur pour Michael Douglas, de la Meilleure Minisérie et de la Meilleure Réalisation pour le « probable » dernier film de Steven Soderbergh.

Des moments d’émotion lorsque Jane Lynch est venue rendre hommage à Cory Monteith,l’acteur de GLEE décédé le 13 juillet 2013, à 31 ans, d’une overdose d’alcool et de drogues.
