Les nominations pour la 65e cérémonie des Emmy Awards, qui se déroulera le 22 septembre 2013, ont été annoncées cette année par Aaron Paul (BREAKING BAD) et Neil Patrick Harris, lauréat de trois trophées pour How I Met Your Mother. Si AMERICAN HORROR STORY : ASYLUM (notre critique saison 2) est en tête de liste avec 17 nominations dont Meilleure Minisérie et Meilleure Actrice pour Jessica Lange, GAME OF THRONES (notre critique saison 3) suit de très près avec 16 citations. La première série originale de Netflix, HOUSE OF CARDS, obtient superbement 9 citations dont une pour Kevin Spacey et une pour David Fincher pour la réalisation. En ce qui concerne les séries comiques, 30 Rock, dont c’était la septième et dernière saison, réunit 13 nominations talonnée par Modern Family avec 12 citations et The Big Bang Theory avec 8.

On notera également que deux acteurs, Elisabeth Moss et Bobby Cannavale, ont été cités deux fois pour respectivement MAD MEN et TOP OF THE LAKE de Jane Campion, ainsi que BOARDWALK EMPIRE et Nurse Jackie. Vera Farmiga est également citée pour son interprétation de la mère de Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) dans la série prequel BATES MOTEL (notre critique). Par ailleurs, MA VIE AVEC LIBERACE (BEHIND THE CANDELABRA – notre critique) – présenté à la 66e édition du Festival de Cannes et qui prendra l’affiche française le 18 septembre prochain – a récolté 15 citations dont Meilleur Téléfilm et Meilleurs Acteurs pour Michael Douglas et Matt Damon.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE et Steve Buscemi ne figurent pas dans la liste des nominés, remplacés par HOUSE OF CARDS et Kevin Spacey. Aucune nomination non plus pour DEXTER,ni pour THE WALKING DEAD (notre critique).

La chaîne HBO domine largement le secteur avec au total 108 nominations, alors que CBS et NBC en obtiennent chacune 53.
